(From the
Latin arts) is the concept that encompasses all creations made by humans to
express a sensitive vision of the world, whether real or imaginary. By plastic,
linguistic or sound effects, art can express ideas, emotions, perceptions and feelings.
History
indicates that, with the appearance of Homo Sapiens, art had a ritual and
magic-religious function, which was changing over time. However, the definition
of art varies according to the time and culture.
With the
Italian Renaissance, in the late fifteenth century, it begins to distinguish
between craft and fine arts. The craftsman is one who is dedicated to producing
many works, while the artist is the creator of unique works.
The notion
of art remains subject to deep disputes, since its definition is open to
multiple interpretations, which vary by culture, time, movement, or the company
for which the term has a specific meaning.
The word 'art' has an extensive meaning, may appoint any human activity done with care and dedication, or any set of rules necessary to develop optimally activity: it speaks well of "culinary art", "medical art", " martial arts "," trawl "fishing, etc. In that sense, art is synonymous with ability, skill, talent, experience.
However,
more commonly usually it considered art as a creative activity of the human
being, which produces a series of objects (works of art) that are unique, and
whose purpose is primarily aesthetic. In this context, art would be a
generalization expressed from yesteryear as "fine arts", now somewhat
obsolete and reduced academic and administrative areas concept. Similarly, the
use of the word art to describe the performance of other activities has been
being replaced by terms such as 'technical' or 'craft'. This article is about
art as a means of creative expression of human nature.
